Tuners & MetronomesWe regularly use Tuners and Metronomes in orchestra class, and there are several apps available for you to use on your own at home. TunerNinja Website Using your chromebook or phone/tablet, this website will listen to your pitch and show whether you are too high or too low. Light/Purple version or Dark/Green version. InsTuner Lite (free) Extremely simple and easy to understand, the top section registers your note by letter name and tells you directly to "tune up" or "tune down." Metronome by ONYX (formerly MetroTimer) (free) I love this thing! It's the simplest interface - the top half shows the metronome speed number with a start/stop button, but the bottom half is my favorite part - it's a practice timer! No more guessing for your practice sessions - just hit the 20-minute button and get to work! TonalEnergy Tuner and Metronome ($3.99) The "smiley face" tuner - this app has many more advanced features that students may find useful after they are comfortable with the tuning process. Online Metronome Websites Adjustable Metronome Metronome with Drum Beat backgrounds! Google Metronome
